Brushing the coat is an important aspect of dog grooming.

- It should be done periodically, so as not to let it get tangled, dirty, or spread throughout the house. Ideally, long-haired or medium-haired specimens should be combed daily. Short-haired ones, however, can be combed every 2-3 days. During shedding season, it is advisable to do it daily.
