Yorkshire Terriers are very affectionate and have a strong character, and their long, silky blue-grey coat is incredibly similar to human hair. For continuous coat growth, Yorkshire Terriers need a daily diet with 35% protein. One of the unique characteristics of this breed is the absence of an undercoat. Because of this, even a small wound or a very slight blow can cause skin problems.

Yorkshire Terriers have small jaws and teeth that need protection. Due to frequent shedding, Yorkshire Terriers can become very agitated, and their food must be very palatable.
