Properties:

It also reduces the pumping activity of sodium and potassium (Na+K/K+ATP) in the kidneys, which reduces both the reuptake of sodium ion (Na+) and the extraction of potassium ions. These aspects are notable in the osmotic flow of water into the renal tubules and the increase in diuresis and urine volume.

Glucosamine, a precursor of glycosaminoglycans - components of the extracellular matrix that cover the mucous membrane of the lower urinary tract. Glucosamine decreases the permeability of the bladder wall to bacteria and toxins.
