The Persian cat (Persian Longhair) is a long-haired cat breed with a round head and a short muzzle. Over the years, selective breeding has occurred, resulting in some cats of this breed having different colors and a more flattened muzzle. The Persian cat has a royal air; if you treat it gently and with dignity, it will allow you to pet it and sit on your lap.

Origin
Although it is one of the most popular cat breeds, it is not clear when it first appeared. The first record of this breed was in 1620 when it was transported to Italy from Iran (which is also where the cat's name comes from).
Personality of the Persian cat
Persian cats are a dignified, quiet, and calm breed. They will not tolerate disrespectful behavior towards them. As long as the owner treats them with respect, they will allow themselves to be petted and will stay close to him. They focus their attention on family members and are reserved with guests. They are not very friendly with energetic children who want to pick them up without their permission. Persian cats are affectionate only with those they deem worthy.

Care
If you like Persian cats for their long fur, then you must be aware that their beauty is a responsibility for you. Daily brushing is needed to keep the fur clean. An alternative to this problem would be visiting a professional groomer who would trim the cat's hair. Another responsibility would be cleaning their eyes, as they tend to tear frequently and there is a risk of infection.
Persian cat diet

The diet of Persian cats is an important factor for their maintenance. They need a balanced and complete diet to provide them with all the vitamins, minerals, and nutrients they need. A diet with premium or super premium food can have a positive impact on your cat's health and well-being.
